10 August 2022 – The University of Lincoln will start its new academic year powered by TechnologyOne's state-of-the-art Student Management System, as part of its strategic plan to further enhance student learning experiences and grow as an internationally recognised academic institution.

The University is already ranked among the Top 20 Universities in the UK for student satisfaction and has an ambition to grow and be recognised as a Top 500 university globally by 2027, and among the Top 15 UK Universities by 2050.

The University of Lincoln has been using TechnologyOne's finance system for over five years to save time and money, by automating and digitising more of its financial invoicing, procurement and reporting systems, and TechnologyOne's Student Admissions system since 2019.

With the go-live of the new Student Management System this week, the University is now a true SaaS ERP OneEducation customer and is part of over 100 higher education customers benefiting from TechnologyOne products in the UK.

Professor Neal Juster, Vice Chancellor at the University of Lincoln, said: "As we welcome new and returning students for the next academic year, TechnologyOne's OneEducation Student Management System will be a key driver, helping us deliver an enhanced experience for students and staff alike.

"Our strategic plan and long-term ambition is to become a university that contributes significantly to the nation's success through regional regeneration and international connectivity, and we believe having the best business and student management system can provide us the real-time insight we need to achieve this.

"The University will continue to partner with TechnologyOne to develop the flexible functionality provided by the student management system facilitating effective changes to our operations and further supporting and enhancing the student experience and this puts us in good stead for the future. These are exciting times," Professor Juster said.

Ed Chung, CEO at TechnologyOne said: "We're delighted to partner with the University of Lincoln as the first UK institution using our internationally trusted Student Management System. Technology which has been helping higher education institutions across Australia and New Zealand enhance operations and student experience for over 30 years."

Leo Hanna, UK Executive Vice President at TechnologyOne added: "We know that managing risk is a huge priority for university leaders right now. As well as helping to drive a positive student experience, TechnologyOne's student management system will help manage cyber security risks."

"Our secure “government security strength” SaaS platform reduces the risk of cyber-attacks by minimising potential threat openings and provides the foundation for continuous and automatic upgrades as new dangers arise."

"At a time when an increasing number of universities are falling prey to ransomware attacks, TechnologyOne has upgraded all its SaaS customers to a new security standard IRAP (PROTECTED) and the University of Lincoln is already benefiting from it," he said.

The successful go-live has been well received by higher education industry groups noting that having a credible new option for universities as they choose a student management system is good news for the UK higher education sector.

TechnologyOne partners with more than 50% of vocational and higher education institutions in the UK, and over 90% in Australia and New Zealand.
