17 November 2022 – More than 57,000 students across a further seven Victorian TAFEs will soon benefit from the wave of digital transformation powering the sector, with these institutions investing in major software upgrades to adopt TechnologyOne’s modern and market-leading Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution.

The investments being made by these seven TAFEs will complete a major accomplishment for Victoria by ensuring that all 12 TAFEs in the state are using TechnologyOne’s innovative SaaS platform by the end of 2023.

Box Hill Institute is one of the seven higher education institutions investing in TechnologyOne’s OneEducation SaaS. They will join the five existing TechnologyOne TAFE customers in Victoria that have already completed their technology transformation to SaaS.

The news comes as the Federal Government announced a new $50 million ‘TAFE technology fund’ for vocational education and training providers to modernise IT infrastructure and other facilities, recognising the key part technology plays in the nation’s productivity uplift.

TechnologyOne Industry General Manager – Education, Peter Nikoletatos said: “Victoria is certainly leading the way, and we’re absolutely delighted to be the technology provider of choice for all 12 TAFEs across the state, all of which have or are making significant upgrades to their student experience through adopting our market-leading, SaaS solution for the higher education sector.

“Our platform is used by two out of every three Australian TAFEs, and a third of Australian universities. It’s uniquely designed to meet the needs of a cloud-first, mobile-first world, to deliver a world-class student experience.

“With the Federal Government investing heavily in fee-free TAFE placements, these institutions and their students can rest assured they are getting the best, most modern technology powering their education experience.”

Box Hill Institute (BHI) in Victoria is one of the most recent in the higher education sector to hit their digital transformation milestone by transitioning to TechnologyOne’s OneEducation SaaS solution.

BHI serves tens of thousands of domestic and international students across three campuses in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs and the CBD. The Institute offers more than 250 higher education and vocational education courses from nursing and health to IT, trades and education; while its Centre for Adult Education (CAE) offers 200 short courses.

As part of a broader digital transformation at the organisation, TechnologyOne will work closely with BHI to upgrade and transition its core systems to a modern, user-friendly SaaS-based solution which will be accessible from any device at any time.

Upon completion, BHI expects to realise a number of operational benefits and to improve both the student and employee experience.

TAFE Directors Australia CEO Jenny Dodd, said: “Technology is central to the national jobs, skills and labour debate. Underpinned by major government investment, it’s those forward-thinking and progressive institutions that are investing in their technology that will benefit from major gains to the overall student experience they can offer.”
