Ku-ring-gai Council using eLodgements to streamline animal registrations

Communities are demanding greater access to services and information on a 24/7 basis. TechnologyOne eLodgements enables you to meet these demands by empowering the community to complete tasks online that are usually undertaken by back-office administration staff.

eLodgements allows community members to submit applications - such as development and building applications, consents, permits and certificates, and supporting attachments - such as site plans. Councils can define terms and conditions, attachment types and size definitions to support email confirmation, context sensitive help and summary details.eLodgements is part of TechnologyOne’s eServices solution which provides a secure corporate solution of business transactions across the internet.

Animal Registrations at Ku-ring-gai Council
New South Wales local government Ku-ring-gai Council is currently benefiting from the use of TechnologyOne eLodgements for Animal Registrations.

Ku-ring-gai Council is a local government area in the north shore region of Sydney, with a population of 114,000. Ku-ring-gai Council is using eLodgements in conjunction with ePayments to empower its community to complete their own Animal Registrations online and update directly into its TechnologyOne Property & Rating system.

Ku-ring-gai previously used paper-based forms for over 2000 Animal Registrations a year, requiring customers to go into a customer service centre during opening hours to fill out, pay for and submit the registration. The biggest push for the online solution was from customers wanting easier access to register and pay for their animals.

“Using eLodgements for Animal Registrations has enabled us to automate the previous paper-based process, which was inefficient and time consuming,” said Ku-ring-gai Council Coordinator Business Systems Kim Alsdorf.

“Allowing the community to complete and pay for their own registrations securely online provides greater flexibility for them while freeing up our staff to focus on more value-added activities.”

The council plans to expand the use of eLodgements to include other customer requests such as Road Opening Permits, Driveway Applications and Development Applications.
