Wellington City Council moves to the cloud with TechnologyOne SaaS deal

Wellington City Council has signed a deal to consolidate many of its current separate IT systems onto the TechnologyOne Cloud platform, using the software company’s OneCouncil Software as a Service (SaaS) solution.

TechnologyOne Executive Chairman Adrian Di Marco said he was delighted to welcome Wellington City Council, New Zealand’s third-largest local authority, to the firm’s growing roster of local government customers.

“As a trusted partner to more than 200 councils across New Zealand, Australia and the UK, TechnologyOne OneCouncil provides preconfigured, proven practice processes that meet the needs of the local government sector and dramatically reduce implementation time, cost and risk,” Mr Di Marco said.

Wellington City Council named TechnologyOne as the preferred supplier for its new core IT system in January this year.

Mr Di Marco said TechnologyOne delivers its enterprise SaaS solutions to customers in a high performing, reliable and secure manner.

“As well as benefiting from the power of a single, integrated enterprise solution, Wellington City Council has bought into a solution which adapts and evolves, and positions them well to harness the full value of smart mobile devices and other emerging technologies,” he said.

The software company also recently expanded its leading position in local government, acquiring Australasia's leading provider of ePlanning and eGovernment software ICON Software earlier this year.

Headquartered in Brisbane, TechnologyOne has operated on the ground in New Zealand since 2000, after signing its first local customer in 1992. The company has offices in Auckland and Wellington and more than 100 New Zealand customers, including Whangarei District Council, Todd Energy, Christchurch International Airport and Land Information New Zealand (LINZ).
