Two Australian icons to digitally transform North Queensland

TechnologyOne has continued its dominance in Local Government, signing a transformational 10-year SaaS deal with iconic Cairns Regional Council.

The council originally went to market seeking a five-year solution and selected TechnologyOne’s OneCouncil SaaS solution in a 10-year deal.

Cairns Regional Council Chief Executive Officer John Andrejic said the council was looking for a future-proof solution with a proven track record to meet the unique requirements of its council.

“TechnologyOne was the clear choice because of its solid technology roadmap, strong reputation and fully integrated, true enterprise SaaS solution – OneCouncil,” Andrejic said.

“We are expecting OneCouncil to transform our organisation by streamlining operations and providing a simple and engaging experience for customers to interact and self-service online.”

Andrejic added: “Switching to a high-performing SaaS-enabled environment will remove the complexity of running and updating our software and infrastructure and mitigate many of the risks associated with IT disaster recovery in our tropical region.”

TechnologyOne Chief Executive Officer Ed Chung said adding another partner to its Local Government customer base demonstrates TechnologyOne’s dominance as Australia’s leading enterprise software provider.

“As an iconic Australian tech company, we are thrilled to partner with an iconic Australian council,” Mr Chung said.

“After 30 years of work in the local government space, and more than 300 customers, this deal further validates our business model of a single organisation providing a full enterprise SaaS solution.”

Mr Chung added: “A global tourist destination needs a global solution – OneCouncil will enable Cairns to innovate faster, reduce IT costs and focus on council business, rather than the technology required to operate it.”
