TechnologyOne inspires Australia’s future generation of tech leaders at Big Day In
Australia’s largest enterprise software provider TechnologyOne (ASX:TNE) is for the first year sponsoring the 2015 Big Day In events across Australia. Run by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) Foundation, Big Day In hosts more than 5,000 high school and university students nationwide who are interested in careers in technology.
“Our goal in speaking to the students at Big Day In is to inspire them to pursue careers in the IT industry,” TechnologyOne Executive Chairman Adrian Di Marco said. “Australia has a growing shortage of STEM qualified professionals, and it is critical that we, as an Australian software company, get students interested in technology to sustain and grow our national technology industry.”
Headquartered in Brisbane, TechnologyOne has made significant investment into the region’s expanding IT industry over the last 27 years. With a spend of more than 20% of EOY profits on R&D, well above the industry average of 8%, TechnologyOne is delivering Australian-bred innovation to the IT sector.
TechnologyOne believes in investing in Australia’s young minds to continue promoting local innovation in Australia. Its graduate program is now a leader in the Australian IT sector, each year employing at least 12 students into its Brisbane R&D centre, as well as other key areas of the business. This year for the first time the company is expanding its graduate program to take on two new graduates in its Western Australia office.
“These kids are the next generation of IT professionals and our future industry leaders. It’s exciting to consider their potential and the creative impact they can have on the future of IT, and perhaps even the future of TechnologyOne,” said Mr Di Marco.
Sponsoring initiatives such as Big Day In ensures TechnologyOne makes its extensive graduate offering known to the brightest young technology minds in Australia.
