TechnologyOne founder Adrian Di Marco inducted into prestigious Pearcey Hall of Fame

Adrian Di Marco, Executive Chairman and founder of Australia’s most successful enterprise software company TechnologyOne (ASX:TNE), has won a coveted 2015 Pearcey Hall of Fame award for his lifetime of achievement and contribution to the development of the Australian ICT industry.

For the last eighteen years, the Pearcey Foundation has recognised truly outstanding achievements by Australians in the ICT industries through three awards; The Pearcey Medal, The Pearcey Hall of Fame and The Benson Entrepreneur Award.

The three nominees for the 2015 Pearcey Hall of Fame were Mr Di Marco, Chief Scientist at APNIC Geoff Huston and Mincom’s (now part of ABB Enterprise Software) Founder David Merson.

As a past recipient of the Queensland Pearcey Award and the Tony Benson award for outstanding contribution to the Australian ICT industry, Mr Di Marco was a deserving candidate. This year he also was named by AFR Boss as one of 2015’s top ten CEOs who deliver, and in SmartCompany’s 2015 list of top ten most influential people in the Australian IT industry.

The Pearcey Hall of Fame award recognises Mr Di Marco’s success in building Australia’s largest enterprise software company, TechnologyOne, which has gone from strength to strength in the 28 years since its inception.

Founded in 1987, the company has grown to become Australia's only true enterprise software company, listing on the ASX in December 1999 and recently joining the ASX-200, notching up more than $1 billion market capitalisation. TechnologyOne has a state of the art R&D centre in Brisbane where more than 300 staff develop enterprise software that is used by over 1000 leading corporations, government departments and statutory authorities.

The company has enjoyed eleven years of record revenues and profits, and has been regularly recognised as a “fixture of the Australian technology industry”. On the ASX, its shares have soared an impressive 300 per cent over the past five years.

The company continues to foster emerging ICT talent in Australia through its nationally recognised intern and graduate program.

“I’m honoured to be receiving this award, which is great recognition of the successful company TechnologyOne has become today,” Mr Di Marco said.

“TechnologyOne is an established, proven business with a reputation as a leading innovative technology company, which we maintain through continued significant investment in R&D.

"Our ability to evolve and adapt to a rapidly changing world, while remaining focused on what we do, has been the key to the company’s long term success.”

As an active member of the Australian IT community, Mr Di Marco said it is an exciting time for the industry.

“Australia is fast gaining a reputation for creative and innovative technologies, and we are developing a diverse and vibrant ICT industry,” Mr Di Marco said.

“This is the best time ever to be in IT. It’s very exciting, all these new devices with amazing functionality. Technology is enabling more than ever before.”

Mr Di Marco has played a major role in promoting the Australian IT industry, as past director of Ersis Australia; Software Systems; and the Australian Information Industry Association, the peak body for the Australian IT industry. He was also a founding member of Software Queensland, an organisation established to promote the Queensland Software industry, and chairman of the advisory board for inQbator, a company that incubates young start up IT companies, providing them with funding to commercialise their ideas.
