TechnologyOne continues its commitment to fostering young talent, partnering with the Tech Girls Movement

TechnologyOne has signed a partnership with the Tech Girls Movement, taking on a position as paramount sponsor alongside Google, Fairfax Media and Queensland University of Technology.

The Tech Girls Movement is a non-profit organisation, established to support the development of a more diverse IT workforce, ultimately resulting in better technology for society. The movement is dedicated to getting more girls into technology studies and careers.

“This exciting new partnership assists to take the Tech Girls Movement to the global stage, with TechnologyOne supporting the 2015 winners of the Search for the Next Tech Girls Superhero to go to San Francisco in July this year for the global Technovation pitch,” said Jenine Beekhuyzen, founder of the Tech Girls Movement.

“The team received an honorary invitation as the inaugural winners of the Technovation program in Australia last year, providing an opportunity for the girls to position their work among the global entries.

“What we love so much about working with TechnologyOne is their strong commitment to diversity and their dedication to supporting the next generation of female technology leaders.”

The partnership is part of TechnologyOne’s continued commitment to fostering young talent and addressing the current shortage of STEM professionals in Australia.

“It is critical that we, as an Australian software company, get students interested in technology to sustain and grow our national technology industry,” said TechnologyOne’s Executive Chairman, Adrian Di Marco.

“In order to address the current shortage of women in technology, we believe it is important that we support movements like this, which encourage a more diverse workforce.

“Our goal in joining the Tech Girls Movement is to inspire more women to study STEM and pursue careers in the IT industry.”

In addition to supporting the Tech Girls Movement, TechnologyOne hosted a Girl Geek dinner event at its headquarters in May, in partnership with Amazon Web Services.  The Girl Geek Dinners Brisbane are technical dinners for women (and men) where they can share their knowledge, ideas and experiences.

The software provider is also a national sponsor of the BiG Day In™ series, which is an IT careers conference designed for both high school (Years 9-12) and university students interested in careers in technology.

TechnologyOne’s commitment to STEM extends to its own graduate program, with the company onboarding at least 20 students into its R&D teams each year. It’s intern program was also announced as one of Australia’s best intern programs in Interns Australia’s National Fair Internship Pledge (NFIP) last year, setting the standard for interns nationally.
