TechnologyOne appoints new General Manager for cloud

Australia's largest publicly listed enterprise software developer, TechnologyOne (ASX: TNE) has appointed Ken Bartlett as General Manager for TechnologyOne Cloud.

The newly created position follows the unveiling of TechnologyOne Cloud, which is TechnologyOne's complete enterprise suite now available on the cloud.

Mr Bartlett has been appointed to drive TechnologyOne Cloud sales and make TechnologyOne the largest provider of cloud enterprise software in the Australian and New Zealand markets over the next five years.

Last month at its Evolve user conference, TechnologyOne launched its entire enterprise suite of 11 products and vertical market solutions on the cloud and announced there would be no further software releases and upgrades. Instead, its products would be broken down into ‘apps', which customers could try via an ‘enterprise app store' and install whenever they chose.

Prior to his TechnologyOne appointment, Ken Bartlett was the director of sales for NetSuite Incorporated. Mr Bartlett was responsible for designing, implementing and driving a new channel sales business across the Asia Pacific and driving enterprise cloud sales.

He previously held senior sales and management positions at Boeing, Fujitsu and Corpnet, building new businesses and driving strong growth.

TechnologyOne Executive Chairman, Adrian Di Marco, said the new appointment was timely as the company had an ambitious agenda to embrace the cloud.

"We are restructuring our business model and transforming the way software will be delivered," he said.

"Ken brings significant experience in the cloud and will be responsible for building TechnologyOne's position as the market leader in cloud enterprise solutions."

The move to the cloud will see TechnologyOne's customers access the existing software via browser and mobile interfaces, enabling them to introduce ‘bring your own device' policies.

TechnologyOne recently announced it will invest $200 million in R&D into its cloud solutions over the next five years, and Mr Bartlett said he was joining the company at an exciting time.

"Cloud is opening a lot of doors for us, and this is only the beginning. The way enterprise software is delivered is changing and TechnologyOne really is leading in that space."
