TechnologyOne appoints director of marketing

Australian enterprise software company TechnologyOne (ASX: TNE) has appointed Mark Phillips, the former Data#3 General Manager - Marketing and Alliances, as its new Director of Marketing.

Phillips brings 20 years of experience in the ICT industry to the role, including an eight-year career with Data#3 during which he oversaw the marketing strategy across five business units representing more than $600m in annual revenue.

He also spent time in senior roles at Intelligent Enterprise Systems, Microsoft and ZIVO working with venture capitalists, customers and channel partners.

At TechnologyOne he will help continue the push into key vertical markets, including education, government,  financial services, utilities, managed services, health and community services.

Since 2009, TechnologyOne has realigned its business along vertical market to developing best practice, preconfigured software solutions for its vertical markets.

In the last 12 months it has launched a number of these solutions including OneCouncil, OneWater, OneGovernment, OnePort and OneHealth, which cover all the specific business functions of these sectors from finance, to human resources, asset management and reporting.

This approach is designed to reduce implementation time, cost of ownership, associated risk and complexity, as well as providing a better experience for the company's customers.

Phillips will also oversee the introduction of a total cloud-based offering for the TechnologyOne enterprise suite as well as a new range of mobile solutions supporting the iphone, ipad, android and other intelligent platforms.

TechnologyOne Executive Chairman Adrian Di Marco said Mark Phillips would replace Genevieve Smith, who was Director of Marketing at TechnologyOne for five years and was instrumental in shaping the company's marketing strategy.

"Mark Phillips is coming on board at a crucial stage, to cement our position as the vendor of choice for our vertical markets and to also position us to be the leading supplier of cloud based solutions in the Australian and New Zealand market in the next five years.

"Technology is evolving more rapidly than ever before and we are committing more resources to ensuring our research and development (R&D) efforts keep pace. Our vertical market focus, new mobile solutions and our new cloud offerings are critical to our continuing success and Mark's role will ensure the marketing team works closely with R&D to understand and responds to these needs."
