TechnologyOne announces appointment of Dr Jane Andrews to its board

TechnologyOne today announced the appointment of Dr Jane Andrews to its board.

TechnologyOne’s Executive Chairman Adrian Di Marco said: “TechnologyOne has previously discussed our plans to increase the size of our board with the aim of adding two independent directors; one in 2016 and one in 2017. Jane’s addition will increase the number of independent directors on our board from three to four, with a majority of independent directors now.

“Jane shares our passion for research and innovation. Her experience as a co-founder and former Director of Corporate Strategy for Implicit Bioscience Pty Ltd has provided her with a deep knowledge of the challenges faced by organisations involved in the development, commercialisation and management of products, which is our core business model,” Mr Di Marco said.

Dr Andrews brings experience in commercialising innovation and entrepreneurship in the biotech sector, with the bioscience industry closely reflecting the research and development process TechnologyOne undertakes. Additionally, her entrepreneurial experience and sound understanding of financial concepts, venture capital and corporate finance activities will be of benefit to the company.

She has extensive experience in the development and implementation of corporate strategy, with more than 15 years of leadership experience across a number of financial management and biotech companies. She holds a PhD in Life Sciences, a Bachelor of Science (First Class Honours) and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment. Dr Andrews is also a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

As the former Deputy CEO of a Cooperative Research Centre (CRC), Dr Andrews played a key role in managing the activities of the Research Advisory Committee, Audit and Risk Committee, the Nominations and Review Committee and the Development Advisory Committee. During this time, she successfully led the CRC through an external review, which involved significant strategic reform.

Prior to this, Dr Andrews worked as a private consultant to industry, academia and government on strategy, intellectual property, commercial feasibility, due diligence and new government initiatives. In 2004, she co-founded Implicit Bioscience Limited, where her role as Director of Corporate Strategy saw her involved in acquisitions, life cycle management, product extension strategies and management of the intellectual property portfolio.

“I’m delighted to be appointed as a director on TechnologyOne’s board, and looking forward to the opportunities ahead,” Dr Andrews said.

“TechnologyOne is a fast growing company, with a reputation as one of Australia’s success stories. As an ASX 200 listed company with more than $1.2 billion market capitalisation, it’s an exciting time to be a part of TechnologyOne.

“I’m looking forward to working with Mr Di Marco and the rest of the TechnologyOne board to continue to drive TechnologyOne’s high performance.”
