Mater Health Services North Queensland partners with TechnologyOne as part of an extensive technology upgrade

Mater Health Services North Queensland today announced that it will be rolling out OneHealth, TechnologyOne’s preconfigured, enterprise solution for hospitals. The OneHealth purchase is part of a wider IT strategy for the Mater, which focuses on a strategic technology upgrade across the hospital.

TechnologyOne (ASX:TNE), Australia’s largest enterprise software company, will work with the Mater to replace its Epicor system with OneHealth. OneHealth will replace the hospital’s core finance system, and also provide integrated Supply Chain, Prosthesis Management and Enterprise Budgeting capabilities.

“The whole focus has been on being able to improve reporting, and have the information available to support better decision making at our clinical manager level,” said Director of Finance Jan Pool.

“A key advantage of TechnologyOne is that they have worked with hospitals to develop OneHealth, which specifically addresses our unique requirements.

“OneHealth recognises the differences in how hospitals do billing, and built to integrate with the patient management system. Other systems like Pulse, Pronto, Oracle and SAP are very much created for the manufacturing industry and as such don’t interface well with our core clinical systems,” she said.

“OneHealth will essentially replace three systems that we currently run,” Mrs Pool said.

“We expect significant benefits from using a single provider to replace multiple systems, because it means they will be integrated. Currently none of our systems are integrated and results in a number of manual workarounds and double data entry.

“The new system will bring a more efficiency to the way we currently do things, such as management of supplier contracts and tracking the flow of inventory through the system. We’re most excited about the Supply Chain and Prosthetic Management components because they will enable us to move to a more electronic way of working,” she said.

TechnologyOne Executive Chairman Adrian Di Marco said the leading software provider’s preconfigured approach had proven hugely successful, enabling the company to regularly win deals over multinationals such as Oracle, SAP and Epicor.

“The health industry is one of the key markets in which we operate. Our work with leading hospitals around the globe has given us a deep understanding of the industry, which helped us develop OneHealth," Mr Di Marco said.

“We are continually evolving our solutions with the latest technologies and enhancing functionality to support the unique business environment of the health industry.

“This win clearly reflects the market’s need for proven solutions that dramatically reduce the time, cost and risks associated with large scale enterprise-wide system implementations."
