TechnologyOne and James Cook University celebrate 20 year partnership

TechnologyOne recently celebrated its 20 year partnership with James Cook University (JCU), holding a celebratory event at the University’s campus in Townsville to acknowledge this milestone.

Since the implementation of TechnologyOne Financials in 1993 and Student Management in 2005, JCU and TechnologyOne have fostered a strong relationship which has seen the evolution of its enterprise solutions through the delivery of new technologies, concepts and innovation.

Representing TechnologyOne at the celebration was General Manager Peter Gill, R&D Director Scott Gilmour and Customer Development Manager David van den Brule, who have provided long term engagement and support to JCU.

The celebration included a welcome address by General Manager Peter Gill, who spoke about the evolution of TechnologyOne and JCU over the 20 year partnership.

“JCU have always been innovative users of our software, pushing the boundaries even in the early days, by using our original reporting tool before most organisations were even considering this type of reporting,” Mr Gill said.

“Over the years both JCU and TechnologyOne have continued to evolve and meet new challenges, establishing a strong future.”

JCU has been an important part of TechnologyOne's product and technology evolution, moving from green screen, to client server, and to the Ci platform.

“The product has continued to evolve and change with new developments,” said JCU Executive Director - Finance & Resource Planning, Patricia Brand. “TechnologyOne suits what we want, what we need, and is continually evolving to take advantage of the latest technology.

“We’ve always had a really great relationship with TechnologyOne. For us, it is not just about the product or the software, but also the relationship and service we get - and TechnologyOne provides the total package.

“We look forward to the next twenty years of working together.”

As the partnership continues, TechnologyOne will further refine its solutions and products to evolve with emerging technologies - such as mobile solutions and cloud computing - and meet sector challenges of Massive Online Open Courses (MOOCs), internationalisation, global student mobility, and improving efficiency in back-office processes.
