City of South Perth leads the way in WA with all-new SaaS deal

The City of South Perth is embracing smarter technologies to deliver better customer experiences, signing an eight-year Software as a Service (SaaS) deal with leading enterprise software provider TechnologyOne (ASX:TNE).

The deal will see the City undergo significant digital transformation, replacing its on-premise legacy solution with TechnologyOne’s OneCouncil SaaS solution, developed specifically for Local Government.

City of South Perth CEO Geoff Glass said the project will initially deliver dramatic internal improvements, before rolling out online services to customers in the third year of the project.

“This isn’t just an IT implementation, it’s so much more than that. We are expecting OneCouncil to completely transform our business and facilitate the delivery of excellent digital services to our customers, giving them unprecedented access to self-service anytime, anywhere,” Mr Glass said.

OneCouncil will provide the City of South Perth with a single, integrated enterprise software solution, allowing the council to draw upon a single source of truth to drive operational efficiencies and deliver quicker response times to customers.

Mr Glass added that after significant due diligence, the City was confident in its decision to shift to an end-to-end SaaS solution, describing it as “the best option”.

“Rather than starting with a blank slate, OneCouncil is a preconfigured software solution, which will allow us to accelerate our implementation and experience efficiencies sooner.

“Switching to SaaS will also see the City benefit from significant year-on-year cost savings, world-leading data security, and the ability to stay at the forefront of innovation through regular system upgrades.

“We know that TechnologyOne’s impressive commitment to research and development means the solution will continue to evolve, adapt and move with the times.”

TechnologyOne Chief Operating Officer Stuart MacDonald said the deal solidifies TechnologyOne’s position as a leading enterprise SaaS provider.

“TechnologyOne is providing the future of enterprise software today by delivering SaaS. Once the project is live, the City of South Perth will no longer have to worry about the complexity of running or updating their software and infrastructure. We take care of that for them, so they can focus on serving the community," Mr MacDonald said.

The project is expected to go live in mid-2019.
