TechnologyOne launches software for fire and rescue services

TechnologyOne has launched a new enterprise software solution for the United Kingdom's emergency services market as it continues to gain traction in the market after winning contracts with Strathclyde Fire & Rescue Service and Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service in 2012.

The solution, called OneFRS, has been developed through close collaboration with these and other customers and helps fire and rescue services better manage financial, supply chain, property, asset management and personnel processes with an embedded understanding of the UK's blue light compliance requirements and working practices.

"The development of OneFRS was built upon other preconfigured solutions and by working closely with several emergency services customers across the Commonwealth," TechnologyOne Executive Chairman, Adrian Di Marco, said.

"The result is a solution that has been developed from an understanding of the needs of the sector, such as keeping up with legislative changes and delivering enhanced organisational sustainability and effectiveness."

The solution is built on a modular framework to allow organisations to conduct phased implementations as well as integrate existing software.

TechnologyOne OneFRS has a modern, standards-based architecture that allows seamless interoperability with other platforms, such as Station Management Software, and stores procurement tools to deliver a simplified user experience.

"By building in the knowledge we have gained through working with organisations such as Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service, potential emergency service customers for OneFRS will be starting out with many of the customisation and implementation challenges already solved," Mr Di Marco said.

"In addition, by sharing a common platform with the wider TechnologyOne solutions, fire and rescue services that deploy OneFRS can benefit from new features as part of a predictable roadmap backed by our ongoing commitment to investing in research and development."

OneFRS offers a number of core modules that include finance, procurement, human resource, asset management and integrated business intelligence amongst an extensive list that covers the wide range of activities within a fire service.

The system is also designed to help meet periodic changes to accounting practices and reporting rules such as the recent migration of UK local government to new accounting standards.
